Show in the Attic
‘Show in the Attic’ was a group exhibition which I organised. It took place in my childhood bedroom, a few weeks before it was demolished and renovated. All the work responded to the psychologically loaded space of the attic bedroom as a site of dreaming and transformation.
Paper Suit - Interim Show
Duration approx. 8 minutes
During this performance, I dress and undress myself in a full length paper suit which I have monoprinted a naked self-portrait onto. I walk around and hold prolonged eye-contact with various members of the audience. The performance is an exploration of the conventions which exist around looking at paintings of female nudes, as well as a wider exploration of creating connection through vulnerability.
TRASH - stage for Bad Art exhibtion and performance night
TRASH was a group show where all the works of art had to be destroyed during the course of the exhibition. I created a painting which acted as the stage for the messy performances which occured during the evening of the show. Only once my painting had absorbed all the trash created by the destruction of the other artworks was it completed and then hoisted up onto the walls of the gallery.
