Front Room (MA Degree show at the Slade School of Fine Art, London) 

This body of work explores the female figure and religious artefacts. The installation centres around ‘Front Room’, which is my reimagining of a traditional Pietà scene with an all-female cast. It is hung to replicate the shape of a bay window, questioning what an altar piece in a contemporary domestic setting would look like.  ‘In Sickness and in Health’, a large vertical painting . Alongside these paintings on paper are several free-standing sculptures. ‘Sunk’ references a baptismal font while anchorhold, while ‘Ossuary for Julian’ , a steel box engraved with a quote from Julian of Norwhich’s Revelations. A ghostly figure made out of paper floats in the middle of the space, either participating in the viewing of the exchibtion or as a religious garment in the space.
